Sonova | Hear The World | Tung Lam's StoryVietnam Videographer and Cameraman Tim Gerard Barker was commissioned by Sonova and their foundation Hear The World to document their cochlear implant program in Hanoi, Vietnam.Tung Lam was born with a hearing loss so severe, that the hearing aids he had been wearing before surgery were not sufficient for him to develop spoken language. Cochlear implants were his only hope to learn to listen and speak.
Sonova | Hear the World | Tung Lam | One Year LaterVietnam Videographer and Cameraman Tim Gerard Barker was commissioned by Sonova and their foundation Hear The World to follow up on the progress of one the beneficiaries of their cochlear implant program in Hanoi, Vietnam.Tung Lam was born with a hearing loss so severe, that the hearing aids he had been wearing before surgery were not sufficient for him to develop spoken language. Cochlear implants were his only hope to learn to listen and speak. The video shows the incredible progress that Tung Lam has gained in his first year with the implant.

Responsible Asia Forestry and Trade (RAFT) - Sustainable Forest ManagementIn 2013 Tim travelled to Bao Yen province in Northern Vietnam with RAFT (The Responsible Asia Forestry & Trade partnership) and it’s partner TFT Vietnam (The Forest Trust) to document their work with the Bao Yen Forestry Company as they assist them and the community members working with them to become FSC certified.  This included partnering with them to train local communities in sustainable forest management.

BoP Pilot for Pro Poor InnovationIn 2013 Tim travelled to Moc Chau in Northern Vietnam with a team from The Netherlands based Non Profit Organisation BoP Innovation Center to document a BoP Innovations pilot program that involved connecting farmers and traders in Moc Chau to resellers in Hanoi.  The pilot involved creating a cold chain for vegetables so that cooling technology would be used to keep produce fresh from the farm, through delivery and in the retail shops in Hanoi.
